It has taken an amazing amount of work to bring the Depot back to life. Friends of the Tehachapi Depot held several fundraisers last year – Art in the Park, Concert in the Park, and the Moonlight Express, to name a few. These events were made possible by donations from individuals and local businesses, large and small. Those who supported FOTD’s goal of bringing the Depot back to life made an investment in their home town that will be appreciated for years to come. There’s bound to be feelings of pride when they hear people comment on the quality of effort that has been put into the restoration of our Depot. In these final hours before the grand reopening, volunteers continue to burn the midnight oil at the Depot, hanging pictures, unpacking artifacts, and setting up exhibits that tell the story of the railroad and its importance to the town of Tehachapi. The railroad continues to bring people to our town–to see the Tehachapi Loop and to spend some time in our beautiful city. Friends of the Tehachapi Depot are indebted to the following individuals and businesses for their support in 2009 and 2010.
