In conjunction with the Tehachapi Loop Railroad Club (TLRRC), Sheryl Bovi & Dennis Storms (picture 1), Sheryl & Mickey (picture 2), along with other members of Friends of the Tehachapi Depot (FOTD), took part in this annual Summer Train Show at
The raffle was for a set of 4 Decorative Plates designed by Bill Stokoe, the former Southern Pacific Signalman whose signal collection is on display at the depot.
The raffle was won by Don Sullivan in October of 2013. His job takes him to various places in the world and when he learned he had won, he was out of the country. On Saturday, July 26, he was finally able to visit the depot and collect his winnings.
In the small world department the cashier who sold him the raffle ticket, Sheryl Bovi, was also the cashier on duty on Saturday when Don came to the depot!
Don says he is "totally honored" to have the series of 4 Bill Stokoe Signal Plates and has become the newest member of Friends of the Tehachapi Depot.
On Tuesday, June 17, 2014 the Train Order Signal was restored at the Historic Tehachapi Depot.
Thanks go to RST Crane Company of Tehachapi for donating their time and equipment for the placement of the signal and to the local Union Pacific Yard Office for providing flagging during the placement.
