New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society
Our mission is to fully restore the Baldwin 4-8-4 Steam Locomotive, AT&SF 2926, to operational status and commence passenger excursion service. After years of effort by an eclectic and dedicated volunteer staff of Doctors, Scientists, Engineers, Skilled Tradesmen and others, the Tender is finished. The Locomotive itself is well past the tear down and inspection phase, and now well into the re-assembly phase. Despite recent events, the project steams forward. In the not-too-distant-future, we are confident the thunder of 2926 and the wail of her whistle will be heard again as she makes her way from town-to-town.

The Station Inn Railfan B&B
THE STATION INN IS RAILFANS.
In 1866 The Callan House opened to serve vacationing Pittsburghers. In the day, dozens of passenger trains stopped at Cresson and more than 100 PRR freights passed, heading east or west. For decades vacationers and traveling salesmen filled The Callan’s rooms. But things change. The station is gone and passenger trains haven’t called at Cresson for years. Today, passing freight trains number about 70. But more tonnage passes here now than in the glory days of the 1950's. And you can watch these trains from our front porch or photograph them from dozens of nearby locations. Our rooms are simple, spotless, and bright. A hearty breakfast is included in your room charge.
